A programme for Registered Nurses to gain an American Nursing Degree in 12 months followed by 1 year PAID internship.
The RN to BSN program is specially designed for registered nurses with an associate Degree or Diplomas in nursing who wish to further their education to complete the BSN.
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) defines accelerated RN to BSN programs as those that can be completed in 12 to 18 months. Objective of the RN to BSN programs is to offer individuals opportunity to complete a nursing program in less time than a traditional baccalaureate program. The AIM-U School of Nursing program is a 12-month accelerated program, not an abbreviated program.
With an increasing number and range of opportunities available in nursing today, the accelerated BSN /RN to BSN is a perfect second degree option. Unique features of this program include:
•12 to 18 Months program completed in three to Four full-time semesters, This primarily based on the transferable effective credits from their diploma /ADN program
•Direct transfer of previous baccalaureate degree credits.
•Minimum prerequisite course requirements.
•Excellent clinical experiences at Victoria hospitals –Saint Lucia, community clinics, health departments, schools, and other health care facilities in saint Lucia.
•Highly qualified faculty who are experienced teachers, researchers, and leaders in nursing and health care.
•State-of-the-art classroom, learning resource centre, and simulation laboratory facilities.
•Outstanding preparation for the NCLEX, the national licensing exam for RNs.
“1 year internship options available” for successfully completed and deserving RN-BSN students in the CARICCOM and PAN-AMERICAN countries (conditions apply).
In addition to the main study programme of RN-BSN, English language enhancing, NCLEX preparation, orientation on employability in all the 22 Island countries in the Caribbean area, and assistance and guidance to register as R.N. in St. Lucia are offered at no extra cost.
Entry requirements:
Should be a Registered Nurse, GNM / BSc.
Work experience, not less than 1 year
English language level, to follow the programme.
