CAP(direct Adaptation) and other Study Pathway programmes for Nurses in
New Zealand
Competence Assessment Programme (CAP) (6 - 12 Weeks)
This competency based integrated theory practice programme has been designed to meet the needs of Overseas Registered Nurses who are required to successfully complete a competency based programme in order to attain Nursing Council of New Zealand Registration. The Registered Nurse will be updated across the scope of nursing practice and have the opportunity to revise his/her nursing knowledge in order to achieve prescribed Nursing Council of New Zealand Competencies.
Applicants from a country where English is not the first or native language must provide certification from an accepted language testing authority indicating that they have achieved the required standard of performance in the English language within the last two years. Accepted tests and related standards include:
Upon successful registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand, the applicant would now be a fully qualified, registered nurse and can seek employment in New Zealand. With a job offer, the applicant can gain a work visa. After obtaining a work visa and full-time employment, the applicant may apply for permanent residence in New Zealand.
Entry requirements:
Registered BSc Nurse
1 year work experience as a Registered Nurse
Valid IELTS score card with 7.0 in all sub segments
